Costa Rica Sims Soho Glam Show Features Emery

Costa Rica Sims Soho Glam Show Features Emery

It was a wonderful afternoon for the Costa Rica Sims Emery “SoHo Glam” Show featuring the newest collection by designer Sunami Beck.

The show started off as the fetching Willy Oakleaf and LesPaul Ibanez joined us in Emery’s urban Roxe’ ensembles. These are perfect outfits for a night out listening to music or just hanging out with the guys. Willy Oakleaf looked wonderful in Emery’s Roxe’ #02 with the charcoal grey vest falling softly at the hip and enhanced with the black Celtic design on the shoulders.  Paired flawlessly with a pair of slim cut grey denim jeans making this one set you simply must add to your summer wardrobe!!

LesPaul Ibanez in Emery’s Roxe’ #01, showed us that a casual look can still turn the heads of the ladies. The pairing of a simple white and blue striped t-shirt with an oversized crimson cardigan that fell below the hip created a spontaneous feel to this look.  It was paired nicely with a cigarette cut pair of torn and worn denim jeans. In this ensemble you will be ready for any event!!

Brendan Macarthur was ready to dance the night away in Emery’s Raver ensemble.  This eye-catching look combines skin tight silver jeans that accentuated every inch of Brendan’s sexy body paired with a matching t-shirt.  The jet black shirt had a bold white stripe that crossed the chest adding a bit of detail to the everyday black t-shirt

Next Sydney Bonde and Veronica Krasner took to the runway. These two stylish ladies showed us some of Emery’s newest designs for summer.  Veronica Krasner showed us another trendy look for summer in Emery’s Agnes ensemble.  The whimsical floral top was cropped with petit cap sleeves and romantic ribbons that flowed softly in the air.  Flawlessly paired with a classic A-line denim skirt that was decorated with brass buttons down the front and two front pockets perfect for filling full of seashells as you stroll down the beautiful beaches of Costa Rica this summer!!

The always chic Sydney Bonde was in the spicy Volca ensemble styled with plum baggy shorts neatly rolled mid-thigh and imprinted with golden horses.  To complement the golden hue of the horses on the shorts a button down camp shirt was worn casually tucked and topped off with a tangerine scarf wrapped around her neck adding to the appeal of the ensemble.

The exquisite Roe Woodford strutted down the stage in a distinctively unique creation, the Piccadilly ensemble from Emery.  The mixing of spots and stripes created a dazzling look that will make Roe the center of attention at all events she attends.  The white and black white striped shirt was worn tucked into a pair of Dalmatian print shorts.  To finish the look a leopard print cropped swing coat made this a spectacular ensemble that you will wear time and time again!!

Looking for a casual yet edgy look for that Saturday afternoon date? Mr Costa Rica 2011 Pheonix Reyer and Devine Hunt showed us just that in the next two ensembles from Emery.

The stylish Devine wore Emery’s Jeane design with the geometric pastel printed harem cut pants that were perfectly paired with the sleek powder pink silk top that complemented the full cut of these chic pants.  This simple yet spectacular look was a perfect choice for that special lunch date!!

A perfect match to Devine’s casual style was Pheonix in Emery’s Cut design.  The faded denim shorts were a unique compliment to the intricately cut button down shirt.  The design got its name from the numerous diagonal cuts that make up the fabric of the shirt.  The fun design elements in this look make this one striking choice for your next afternoon out!

Every lady loves the bad boy image of a rock star and Willy Oakleaf was portraying that image perfectly in Emery’s Singer #01.  Faded in all the right places, the slim pencil cut jeans were the perfect base for this sexy look and when worn with a fitted black and red plaid shirt you have a perfect look for that wild night out with the boys!!

A true romantic man is a rare find and LesPaul Ibanez was just that in Emery’s Rare Love design.  The patched worn jeans were a nicely chosen compliment for the layered cardigan look.  The soft grey cotton cardigan was worn over a green and white stripe V-neck t-shirt.  Rare Love proves that casual can be so romantic especially when Emery styles it like this!!

Stepping back onto the runway to show us two more edgy designs from Emery’s summer collection were Brendan Macarthur and our own Mr. Costa Rica 2011 Pheonix Reyer.

Pheonix was in another daring rocker inspired ensemble Emery’s Singer #03!  The slim cut dark washed denim trimmed in golden accents complimented the arm baring tank top.  The midnight black tank top was decorated with cut outs of mesh and diagonal stripes of cool aqua blue crossed across his well-defined chest.

If you are more of the shy and quiet heartbreaker then Brendan was wearing the outfit for you!  Emery’s Jinx was perfect with the understated blue and green plaid button down shirt that will draw the ladies eyes right to you.  Faded grey cotton jeans enhanced his softer side and to add a hint of edge to this look, a pair of green leather riding gloves maked this one comfortable but striking look for summer.

Sydney was back in another rocker glam ensemble, Emery’s Thriller, this flirty and fun look with a cobalt blue and black print skirt that had golden zippers down the front and triangular cutouts that added to the appeal of this impressive outfit.  The cool grey blouse with balloon sleeves was a sweet compliment to the seductive skirt.  Sydney is sure to turn heads in this dazzling look!

Next we welcomed back the spectacular Veronica Krasner in Emery’s Singer #04, this was one HOT number. The cherry and lime green leopard print leggings were worn low on the hips showing off all of Veronica’s beautiful curves.  The studded cropped tank top took the temperature in the room up even hotter!!

The party really started when Roe Woodford and Devine Hunt arrived in two more impressive designs from Emery.  Devine was in the vibrant Pop It skirt set combining a bold cobalt and black striped skirt that hugged all of her luscious curves and was a perfect match for the black tank top with white strikes of paint adorning it.  The wide belt and black thigh-high stockings were a perfect finish for this spicy look!!

The Gold Foil Face imprinted on the grey V-neck t-shirt gave the name to this dazzling ensemble.  The black scrunched micro-mini created an exquisite silhouette and was paired perfectly with the matching knee-high socks.  The addition of the military inspired cap added a hint of drama to this fun design.

Looking quite fetching was Willy Oakleaf in Emery’s Studing Politic design.  This was one fun and fresh alternative to the basic blue jeans and sweater look.  The bright mustard yellow denim pants were cut slim through the leg with a slouched boot cut prim for added detail.  Styled impeccably with a nautical inspired blue and white striped sweater with a classic shawl neckline and decorative buttons down the front making this one set you must simply have!!

If you have been searching for that one comfy casual outfit that you can wear every day, then Brendan Macarthur’s Emery’s Bisquet ensemble is what you are looking for.  Bringing comfort to the runway with the slim cut denim jeans that are lined in red plaid flannel and cuffed perfectly to add a bit of country charm to this city boy’s wardrobe.   The worn V-neck t-shirt in a faded blue was a perfect finish to this charming ensemble.

L’amour est dans l’air as Sydney Bonde strutted onto the catwalk in Emery’s spicy French Kissin ensemble.  Bright yellow tiger leggings were flawlessly paired with a racy white tank top that enhanced all of her curves.  Topping off the look was a cropped black leather jacket adorned with a pearl and diamond broach and black riding gloves making this one sharp look you will insist on having in your summer wardrobe!!

Wearing another fun, casual, summer look was Veronica Krasner in Emery’s Tropicana ensemble.  The combination of coral leggings and a cherry red blazer created an unexpected flair that only designer Sunami Beck can create.  The fitted blazer was trimmed in white and the collar was decorated with an ornate broach.  The colorful printed bodice that was worn under the blazer was a perfect finish for this fun and flirty look!!

Saturday afternoon in the city is a busy place filled with people running from one shop to the next and you want to look your best and LesPaul Ibanez and Roe Woodford were there to show you how in Emery’s Orchid Club ensembles.

LesPaul was wearing a pair of patched cropped jeans cuffed just below the knee and worn with crimson red knee socks that matched the fitted and cropped red cardigan worn layered over a soft white t-shirt.  To make this outfit stand out in the crowd, a black scarf was wrapped around his neck!!  LesPaul is sure to turn heads in this fashionable ensemble!!

The splendid Roe was looking spectacular in the pencil cut jeans that were shredded perfectly to match the shredding on the cobalt and black silk tank top.  Layered over the tank was a carrot orange leather cropped jacket, adding a bit of spice to this festive design!!

Pheonix Reyer returned to the catwalk dressed for a brisk morning in the city in Emery’s Fair Isle.  The hand knit Fair Isle sweater knitted in various hues of blue, red, and white was a perfect match for the knit cap that Pheonix was wearing.  Finishing off this causal look was a pair of distressed blue denim jeans cuffed in a warm white flannel.  This was the perfect outfit for an early morning sipping coffee on the patio with friends!!

Our last lovely lady to grace the catwalk today was Devine Hunt in Emery’s Be Loved summer dress.  What was not too loved about this fun-loving dress? The black and white polka dot ruffle skirt was an unexpected yet perfect match for the paint splattered silk top.  Cinched at the waist with a wide corset belt that added a bit of European flair to this exquisite design that will have all the men following you down the city streets!!

After all of the models returned to the runway for one more final round of applause. Models and guests danced and socialized while catching up with friends and meeting new ones at the fun filled after party.

It was a great show with some great designs from Sunami Beck and I am sure many of the guests will be rushing to Emery to stock up on the great outfits they viewed. Until next time! Syd <3

Tuesday May 3, 2011 — For immediate release

The SL grid is turning purple!

From May 7 to May 13 the Second Life grid will be turning purple!

Thousands of Second Life residents will be painting their stores and houses purple, wearing purple clothes, purple hair, even purple skin, in order to show their support for the Relay For Life of Second Life and to spread a purple Message of Hope.

Relay For Life® is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is an annual activity that takes place in Second Life® in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like in a real world Relay.

Paint SL purple!

Bailey Dazy, 2011 Relay For Life Special Events Chair and ‘Paint SL Purple’ lead, explains: ‘In 2008, a real life Relay in the United States began holding an event called Paint the Town Purple in support of their local Relay.

‘During the American Cancer Society summit in 2008, Stingray9798 Raymaker (American Cancer Society representative in Second Life) and Trader1 Whiplash (then the Mission Chair for Relay For Life of Second Life) heard about the real life event and discussed how this concept could work in Second Life, and very enthusiastically brought the idea back with them and introduced it to the Relay For Life committee.

‘The rest is history … in 2009 ‘Paint SL Purple’ was developed and introduced to the Second Life community as a one-day event.

‘But, given the creativity and wonderful things that can be done in Second Life, we came to realize that one day was not enough and that it was over too quickly. In 2010 we extended the event to a full week.

‘We’re keeping the tradition going in 2011 with another week filled with Purple Pride from May 7 to May 13 to show Second Life what we Relay for!’

We’re nearly halfway there!

‘Paint SL Purple’ week culminates in the halfway point between the start of fundraising and the main Relay event.

After nearly two months of fundraising, and with another two months to go, 2011 Event Chair MamaP Beerbaum reports that SL relayers have already raised an awesome US$125,650 — over half the total amount raised last year!

To mark the halfway point there will be a Halfway There Fair on May 14-15 where relayers can relax and celebrate before embarking on another two months of fundraising, culminating in Relay weekend on July 16-17.

All Second Life residents are invited to show their support for Relay For Life by turning their space or their avatar purple on May 7. Contact Bailey Dazy in world for a ‘Paint SL Purple’ toolkit or grab a pot of purple paint from the American Cancer Society island — (

Poppy Zabelin, Relay For Life of Second Life PR and Marketing Chair, added: ‘Help us document this event by sending your pictures to our Photography Chair IshtarAngel Micheline ( or upload them directly to our Flickr stream’

About Relay For Life of Second Life

Relay For Life® is the signature fundraiser of the American Cancer Society. Relay For Life of Second Life (RFL of SL) is an annual activity that takes place in Second Life® in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like in a real world Relay. The main RFL of SL track event this year will take place on July 16-17. We will walk a virtual track for 24 hours, just like in a real world Relay For Life. Team members build and gather at their team campsites, enjoy live music, participate in fun events, and explore the many Relay sims and the incredible builds by some of Second Life’s top designers, as the event runs overnight and into the next morning.

In 2010 Relay For Life of Second Life attracted more than 120 teams with participants from over 30 countries, held over 300 team fundraising events between March and July, and raised over US$222,000 (that’s REAL US dollars) for cancer research and education. The funds raised go to research, advocacy, patient services and programs, with 12-15% going to international projects. Just as in the real world, RFL of SL is an international event.
