They came; they saw; they were BLOWN AWAY!

The opening of BOSL Fashion Week 2011 was the perfect blend of edgy, trend-setting, fabulous Fall fashion from GizzA, a bevy of fresh-faces mixed with veteran models from the newly revamped BLVD Agency, and a state-of-the-art, never-before-seen dazzling stage created by award-winning artist, Bryn Oh.

GizzA inspires extreme devotion among its followers, and for good reason. The brand which won the 2011 BOSL Award for Best New Designer unveiled a Fall collection that delighted the senses with amazing couture designs brought to life with classic autumn and vivid, vibrant colors. Each of Giz Seorn’s and Auster Elan’s offerings for both ladies and gentlemen were mesmerizing in detail — fur, feathers, hats, belts, boots, jackets, leggings, shirts, skirts, scarves, gloves, woolens, and everything necessary to keep you warm, yet looking every bit the cutting-edge, couture Fall Fashionista!

Bryn Oh’s stage was art of the kind and type that sent ripples of excitement all through the audience. The spectators sat in grocery carts while crème-colored blocks floated above their heads, sporadically breaking and falling all around them with chiming music; monarch butterflies and various figures, boxes, and streamers filled the room. On cue, the “curtain” which was comprised of large wooden planks, fell away revealing an empty stage with black walls, and black and white blocks and squares strewn over the floor. But then, we witnessed the stairs and levels upon which the models walked and posed literally popping up and coming into view with every step they took. As each model completed his or her presentation, the stairs and surfaces collapsed as the model disappeared, only to be replaced with another model creating a new set of stairs and levels as he or she walked.

An astonished audience reveling in what proved to be the most high-tech, boundary-shattering, and first-of-its-kind runway extravaganza was extremely delighted with the opening show. “What a way to start off the week,” one impressed audience member was heard to quip at the show’s end. Others agreed: “You have set the mark high for everyone now!” “Can you all believe what we just saw?”

This is just the beginning of a week filled with what promises to be ten shows that fashion lovers everywhere will be talking about long after BOSL Fashion Week 2011 comes to an end. Be sure to come over to the BLVD Agency Lobby and get your landmarks for every show now. Trust me, you do not want to miss one single show this week!
