Miss Virtual World! My First Challenge!

Miss Virtual World! My First Challenge!

Taken with Gyazo as I was playing around one night.

So it started with the makeup, a fantastic one by Madrid Solo. I loved the hues of red and gold and orange in it and it instantly came to me that I wanted to do something involving the sun.....but how to tie it in with things?

I also knew that I wanted skimpy, but tasteful. I had thought of using my mesh body, but tossed that out. The odds of people seeing my body if it was mesh was minuscule and I know how frustrating it is when all I see is a floating head. So with that went a lot of the new models of clothing where it's mesh fit for Maitreya.

But.....I remembered this little bra and thong set from LUAS and with the red and gold, it tied in with the Madrid Solo makeup. And I slowly started to build my look around that, building the skirt from scratch from a Mea Culpa piece called Here Comes the Sun. I loved how the prims glowed and had that same fiery colors.

And slowly the look came together. It wasn't easy. I struggled with this for 3-4 days. I wanted so badly to reach out and ask for help. I'm brand spankin' new and truth is, I don't even know all the stores out there. But I'm learning. And slowly, bit by bit, the look came together.

It wasn't until the end that I really started to love what I put together. But I did. When I walked the runway at the show, I was thrilled with it. It was different. Wild. I felt like the odd duck among the swans, but everyone keeps saying these challenges are really about you versus yourself. And in the end, I think I came out on top.

And so here's the backstory and Style card I turned in. Hope you like!

Proud. As Catalina presents her interpretation of the challenge, she is showcasing a sleek look just brimming with sensuality as the beauty struts her stuff, a glowing symbol of raw passion and fire. With an unapologetic vigor and zest for life, Catalina is ready to take her place among the ladies of the Moulin Rouge

Radiant. Inspired by the story of Burlesque star Satine and her lover, the writer Christian, Catalina also sought to tie in Zumanity’s appeal for whimsical, innovative storylines embraced by utterly unique characters. For this, she chose to represent the sun, a woman on a quest to seek out her lover, the Night.

Fierce. Though the two lovers in Catalina’s story will never meet upon the stage, one coming out mere moments after the other has left, creating that bittersweet, poignant tale of the two lovers fighting their battle against time, always is there a fierce look, a strong-willed independence in the exquisite Catalina’s provocative splendor.
