Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

The Couturier’s Dock has been on going for three days now, and it has been doing very well, so if you are planning on getting there, you better move soon. I walked through yesterday and picked up a few items, some that I am wearing here, others I will blog soon. Just as a hint, the things I am holding for next blog is the pose set from *Oh Wow* I picked up a pack of 5 or 6 poses for 50L’s, yep, not a typo on that, its a steal! and I couldn’t pass up on the Chantkare dress either, its simply summery and gorgeous! But we will cover that this weekend, what I really want to share now is these finds from the Couturier’s Dock.

Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.

The NYU NYU pants are simple perfection! Slim lined mesh in a milky white color, perfect for those summery days and so easy to style with! Every part of this outfit was just pulled from my closet, and matches the pants to perfection! I am ready to spend a sunny day out with friends with my top from MonTissu, hat from Gizza, jewelry by Kungler’s and glasses from [sYs]. The kicky little pumps are part of a [[LD]] fatpack available from The Couturier’s Dock, but you better run, last I checked that fatpack was close to being extinct and I love the fact that I am one of only 35 avatars that will own them, because the designs are fabulous! The final crowning detail is this stunning new hair from Vanity Hair! Simply perfect for a casual yet elegant look! The Milano hair went on sale yesterday, go grab your fave color, and if you happen to see Tabata Jewell in store, drop her a kiss and a happy birthday because today is her day! But definitely stop by The Couturier’s Dock before all the items sell out! “Taxi”

Freedom Lies in Being Bold ~ Robert Frost

Freedom Lies in Being Bold ~ Robert Frost

I can’t ever say I’ve ever been accused of dressing mildly but I live my Second Life to my own whimsy, not for others. The other day I wandered over to sYs and as is oft the way when I go there, I went spend crazy. I just love the originality of the styles created by sisters Syane and Systi Cisse. They are bold, original, playful and sometimes just a little naughty, but in all ways, the outfits have impact.

For this first set of pics I am wearing the “Fatale” leggings with the Vega jacket. The leggings are lacey and naughtily see-thru, but not so much they reveal everything, the jacket is just all out gorgeous, the back is a scrumptious patchworked satin and the front is a silvery series of chains that reach from just below the chin to below the breast bone. The outfit is sophisticated and elegant, perfect for any informal to semi-formal function. To complete the look I simply added the [sYs] “divine” boots and the cool “Bruno” hairs from [[Loovus Dzevavor]].

My second outfit is “the Raven” This outfit has an incredible feather jacket and skirt. The entire outfit is about feather and leather, what better combination is there? The dress includes the laced leggings, gloves and bra top. It is another sophisticated outfit for all with discerning taste. I would wear this outfit just about anywhere, especially if my destination was to be noticed. I completed the look with feather brows from Boudoir and hair from Wasabi Pills. Divine and done! I love [sYs] so much I’ve included the taxi for you! Taxi:</a

Recently while wandering the malls, I stopped in to check out [Leezu!] because I just love Leezu Baxter’s creative style. Right as you enter the store, taxi to the left of the doorway is an advert for a contest the store is running for a few weeks. I am retired, but I love this kind of contest because it helps me to practice “quick-styling.” I ran through the store and within 15 minutes picked up everything I needed, flew home, styled and took a picture. Total prep time, 30 minutes. So if you want to have some fun while practicing the art, check out the ongoing contest at [Leezu!] I wish you good luck!

Make your Fashion a Piece of you.
WEEK TWO:

COLOR: BLACK

Well, we had a wonderful turn out for our first week of the contest with some amazing styles. And since everyone worked so hard, we’ve decided that instead of just one winner EVERYONE deserves to win! Therefore at the end of WEEK FIVE, everyone who has sent a qualifying entry will receive a special gift from LeeZu! Please Note: We will still have a top winner each week and a Grand Prize winner at the end of Week Five. The entry prize is an extra bonus so that everyone gets something for entering. :) Details for the contest are below. Get your entries in and stay tuned for next week’s color.

[LeeZu!] is having an extended contest for you to show off your styling skills, MEN are strongly encouraged to participate.

Once a week on Sunday (by 6AM SLT) we will announce the color of the week. The idea is to be creative and make a FABULOUS outfit mixing and matching any [LeeZu!] Collection item that is in the store to come up with something unique and wild. We would love to see some MEN come in and style something killer…hint, hint!
All photos are due by the following Friday no later than Midnight SLT and the winner of that week will be announced.

♥ Who wins it?

One winner per week for 5 weeks; he/she will receive 3 Fat Packs and a spot in the final challenge. The Grand Prize winner will receive 5 Fat Packs and 10,000L$.

Dreams are the Touchstones of our Character ~ William David Thoreau

Dreams are the Touchstones of our Character ~ William David Thoreau

Recently when reading the newest issue of Vogue I noticed designers are going for a remarkably retro look this season. The pages are filled with pastels and 50’s and 60’s styled designs. As is often the way, designs are recycled from time to time, not because there is nothing left to design, but more so, I feel, to fill a newer generation with a touch to history. I recently marveled that some of the seasons offerings from *SoliDea FoliEs* are following this same trend. Keeping it fresh and creating it hip, MILA TATHAM has fulfilled the dreams of my SL inner new age hippy with a sexy cocktail dress and a mini-dress that justs scream for a pair of go-go boots.

One of the things I love best about Second Life is your allowed to play, to be fun and enjoy fashion. This kicky fun Optical Dots dress is a newer release from *SoliDea FoliEs* and it reminds me of Goldie Hawn of the 70’s comedy show “Laugh In”. The dress with its retro pom-poms and fresh colors is guaranteed to bring a smile to most wearer’s faces. But if it doesn’t, I would think the matching koi hat would tempt the dourest of souls. I love to wear it because it’s fun, and retro cool, now if I can just find where I put my lava lamp… As an aside the groovy “statuette” on the table is actually a recent hat release from SoliDea, don’t you just love the concept of wearable art?

The cocktail dress is the previously released Amanda in MESH. The dress is gorgeously naughty and comes with an incredible feathered boa. For this pic I am wearing a feather stoll from Mimikri, only because I featured the *SoliDea FoliEs* boa in a previous blog, so for this I wanted to create a mix and match feature. The neckline is almost illegal but actually beautyfully draped and perfect for driving him mad. The hair, also mesh, is a new item “Sunset Boulevard”, from Vanity Hair, the earrings [Mandala] and the watch Ryca. Be fab and dress like you own it! Fulfill your dreams, check out *SoliDea FoliEs* today and bring out your inner wild child. *Taxi

When I decided to become a model, I chose to create my avatar in the way a real life model exists, having one no makeup skin (the only change being in tone) and changing my makeup layers to create the look I am trying to achieve. I do this because it makes me recognizable and modeling is all about selling the product you are wearing. And to me, much as a designer’s logo is their brand, my face is my brand. So I am always looking for creative makeups.

Recently while wandering around Pipins, I entered the section of Angiliak Crystal’s store that holds her makeups. While looking around I came upon the makeup in this picture and just fell in love with it for a fantasy type picture. The tattoo layer is artistically created with exacting detail and I immediately thought of the Vita’s Boudoir mermaid outfit to accompany it. That’s the thing I loved most about this find, how often do you build a picture around a makeup?

If you have a show coming up, or just want to create a fantasy, check out Pipins, there are a lot of very creative and surreal items in her store. <3 Taxi:
